Canadians can take action to improve the educational situation for students around the world. Education is the vital key that leads to progress, development and peace.

non-voting membership

Please join HYTES-Helping Youth Through Educational Scholarships at an annual fee of $25.00.

Having a formal membership allows HYTES to...

  • exist as a non-profit organization by meeting the requirements set out in our By-Laws of incorporation
  • stay in touch with you as a member by email
  • help with all costs involved in our organization. (Note: The $25 is not a charitable donation and consequently tax receipts can not be issued)

In purchasing a $25 membership, you will:

  • have volunteer opportunities within your community with the organization
  • receive regular e-mails and newsletters
  • be notified of related events
  • be directly involved in an organization that seeks to improve quality of life for individuals and communities in Africa through educational scholarships
  • receive discounts on select HYTES events and products (i.e., fundraisers and T-shirts)

To join: Complete the membership form and mail it in with a $25.00 cheque payable to "HYTES".

voting membership

Voting members will have all the same rights as non-voting members plus the ability (and expectation) to attend and vote at our Annual General Meetings.

Currently, our core group of volunteers are voting members. These persons are Eric Amulaku, Pamela Amulaku, Graciela Boido, M. Olimpia Boido, Amy Brathwaite, Joshua Campbell, Mona Csada, Jacqueline Ford, Scott Muzychka, Harold Pliszka, Janet Pliszka and Lisa Stewart.

We are proposing a change at our next Annual General Meeting to accept the following resolutions:

  • Non-voting members who donate three years in a row will become a voting member upon their request (one year term).
  • Non-voting members who volunteer at least ten hours a year for three years in a row will become a voting member upon their request (one year term).
